Mars Habitat

In order to minimize the need for supplies and to create a replicable structure, the design for the Mars Habitat follows a specific equation: function, form, fabrication.

Function: Evaluating each space needed to support a family of 3 (a scientist, an artist, and a 5 year old). The spaces determined were a kitchen, shared office, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a recreation/exercise space.

Form: The shape of each space was designed in order to support healthy anthropometrics while using the fewest materials. As a result, spaces for furniture such as beds and desks were built into the walls themselves, allowing for maximum open space in each room.

Fabrication: Finally, the fabrication process of 3D printing was chosen in order to achieve each of these goals.
